About the practice

sessions provides a steady, supportive space to slow down, reflect, and understand the challenges you’re navigating. Through thoughtful conversation and collaboration, we explore new perspectives and grounded ways of approaching your life and relationships.

Approach to Therapy

At sessions, therapy is collaborative, relational, and shaped around what matters most to you. Together, we slow things down, make space for what you’re experiencing, and look at your emotions and relationships with greater clarity and support.

The work is tailored to you, drawing from approaches including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment-based and family systems work, solution-focused approaches, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), cognitive-behavioural approaches, and trauma-informed care.

These approaches are integrated in a way that supports not only relief, but a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships.

Deborah is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Master’s degree in Social Work and over 20 years of experience across hospital and community mental health settings. Her background includes direct clinical work, the leadership of mental health services, and experience in settings such as BC Children’s Hospital, along with clinical teaching at the University of British Columbia.

She leads Sessions and works directly with clients, drawing on relational, evidence‑informed approaches. Her work is shaped by a deep respect for the complexity of people’s experiences and a commitment to understanding emotional patterns, strengthening relationships, and finding more manageable ways of responding to challenges.

Deborah brings a calm, thoughtful, and compassionate presence to the practice, offering a space where people feel understood and supported — especially during times that feel overwhelming.
